An Open Letter to Tammy Baldwin

Dear Tammy,

I regret (not really) to inform you that you do not represent me.  You will never represent me.  It's not that you don't want to, it's just that you can't.

You see, the time you spent as a Congresswoman in Wisconsin has left a legacy of values.  These are values that do not, cannot, and will not reflect my own, and this holds true for nearly half of all Wisconsin's families.   Your so-called "win" is actually the absolute disenfranchisement of nearly half of Wisconsin's voting citizens.

One thing you are -- is consistent.  For that, I commend you.  You make it very clear where you stand, what your values are, and who you represent.  It isn't me.  And it isn't nearly 50% of all of my fellow Wisconsinites or their families.

So when you give speeches that say you are representing me, know that I disagree, vehemently.  In fact, I would go so far as to say it is an outright falsehood.

You said, "I didn't run to make history."  I respectfully disagree.

You stated, "..and I am well aware that I will be the first openly gay member..." (3:45)

You did make history - you said so yourself.  Who you have sex with is your platform, and this you cannot deny no matter how many times you may insist it is not.  (Please don't make me list your GLBTQ involvements.)

You said, "Now, I know that many of the people listening to this speech tonight may not have voted for me. but I want you to know that I will stand up for you, and I ask you to work with me..."

My response to your request is one word - no.

You see, Tammy, I won't compromise what I believe in.  I won't allow someone who consistently takes a stand against those very core issues that built this nation to sing me a victory lullaby with promises that they cannot keep.  You are unable to "stand up for me."  You do not believe what I believe.  It's just not possible.  Your vow to do so is a misrepresentation - and a lie.

But thanks for the mention.

Sincerely,

The Other Half

Recaller Taints West Bend Memorial Day Parade

Our family attended the Memorial Day parade in West Bend.  We witnessed many, many servicemen, young and old, representing all branches of service.  We were humbled by their presence and honored to be the recipient of the freedom that comes with sacrifice.  Vintage cars, military vehicles, new 'vettes passed by.  Elected officials walked, waved and lent time to honor this day of remembrance.

And then there was the lone recaller......

An older man riding a three-wheeled bike.

He had a large sign across the back of his cycle that read "Recall Walker."

Shame.

A true spoiler to a solemn and honorable event.

Who let this happen?

Here are a few pics of those who served, along with a "thank you" to all military personnel, past and present.

Compas Spoofs Fitz. Disses Homemakers and WOMEN

In this SPOOF done to rebut a comment made by Sen. Fitzgerald by his opponent for the 13th District, Lori Compas (whose claim to fame is getting names on recall petitions and delivering boxes to the Capital), the "average housewife" is given the appearance of a brainless idiot.  Of course, to be sure we understand a housewife's role, Compas herself appears in the starring role wearing pearls, an apron, a dress, and carries a duster.  To Compas, it seems, that's the iconic look of the stay-at-home woman.  She couldn't appear to have been hard at work on something like, oh, the family taxes, or the household budget, or wiping a kids' puke off the floor, or taxi'ing children to events, strategizing future family investments, or the like.  I suppose this was Compas's idea of passing off humor; However, this is an epic FAIL with regard to the message she is sending to women who work at home.  I am not talking about women who have jobs outside of the home that they are able to perform within their home setting, I'm speaking of women who work full-time right within their own domains, children or no children.  Compas's appearance in the skit of a housewife-bimbo tells us that she clearly believes the only way she could get her message across to Fitzgerald was by slashing and burning one of her own kind - a WOMAN.

While using her two children (wearing T-shirts labeled "union thug" and "protest junkie") to aid in sending a sad message of disdain toward another human being while disrespecting housewives everywhere (shame), Compas implies that she did not need her husband in order to initiate and run a recall.

Let's test that message out...

HERE you can witness her husband, Eric (an Asst. Prof. at UW-Whitewater) helping out his wife with "analyzing the distribution of signers [recall signatures]."  He generously "tweets" this information out as well HERE.

HERE is Eric's map of campaign contributions for Scott Fitzgerald, and, interestingly, HERE is Lori's statement that coincides with the findings on his map.  Hmmmm......

Eric signed his wife's recall petition HERE.

Lastly, Compas clearly needed her husband (and even her children) to pull off an offensive campaign slur in a youtube video skit.  Guess she's really NOT in this alone after all, is she?

Wonder Woman, she ain't.

Now, let's put Fitzgerald's comments BACK INTO CONTEXT.  (Compas's disingenuous attempt at twisting Fitzgerald's words is so poorly orchestrated, it's more transparent than cellophane tape.)

What Fitzgerald actually said:

For the record, Fitzgerald said he doesn't buy Compas' Pollyanna image. He knows some people are painting the race as a David-vs.-Goliath contest. But Fitzgerald said he thinks her husband is one of the main forces behind her campaign, as well as unions and protest groups.
"I don't for one minute believe she is the organizing force behind this whole thing," he said.
What the average voter can easily understand from this:  She is backed by others such as unions, special interest groups (she is endorsed by Planned Parenthood and FAIR Wisconsin -a pro gay group), and her husband, Eric, a teacher, who organized a protest walk from UW-Whitewater to the Capitol to hand-deliver a message from the UW-W teachers opposing the Budget Repair Bill. (As an aside, both of Compas's parents are retired schoolteachers.)
Fitzgerald's comments are legit.  Her husband clearly has a stake in his wife's endeavors.  To say he is not a driving force is to deny the obvious.
Compas gets a thumbs down for items too numerous to mention.
Last, Compas clearly needs to be held up by "somebody."  If you go to her "listening sessions" HERE and HERE, you will find Compas stating that she knows little of the issues concerning her district or the state, and that she is there to "listen."  She gives no indications of her position on anything, and for all one can gather from these sessions, she is pro-Cottonelle and anti-Charmin, which isn't telling you much.
Compas should stick to photography.  At least it doesn't involve misleading the general population of her district.  And everyone smiles at you.

Republicans MUST vote in May 8th Primary - What mainstream media is not telling you

Conservatives/Republicans need to get out and vote on May 8. While the focus has been on the Democratic candidates running in the primary, what you are not hearing is that there is ONE REPUBLICAN candidate running against Scott Walker as well.

Republicans NEED to get out and cast a vote that day. Mainstream media has kept this on the down-low. This is vital information that is detrimental to the race for governor.

Only one candidate will make the ballot: SCOTT WALKER or ARTHUR KOHL-RIGGS

Pass this information far and wide.

Fashion Rage for Concealed Carry

New clothing line offered for surge in Americans who want to conceal carry.  Nice!

Woolrich, a 182-year-old clothing company, describes its new chino pants as an elegant and sturdy fashion statement, with a clean profile and fabric that provides comfort and flexibility.
And they are great for hiding a handgun.
The company has added a second pocket behind the traditional front pocket for a weapon. Or, for those who prefer to pack their gun in a holster, it can be tucked inside the stretchable waistband. The back pockets are also designed to help hide accessories, like a knife and a flashlight.

Check it out HERE.

Transparency in Wisconsin's School Districts. What's YOUR District's Rating?

Our West Bend School District received a "D" for lack of transparency with information concerning:
  • TAXES
  • MEETINGS
  • CONTRACT
  • AUDITS
  • PUBLIC RECORDS (ouch!)
  • BACKGROUND CHECKS (double ouch!)
Unfortunately, this is the norm across the board. (Only four districts receiving anything higher than a D.) If our kid came home with a report card that had D's in every subject, justified it by saying it's what everyone else got, that wouldn't sit well, would it?  Same goes for this report card. We can do better.  We should do better.

What did YOUR school district get?  Click HERE to find out!

WEAC and DPI = Sexualization of Wisconsin's Schoolchildren

Time for concern.

If you are not aware of the campaign to sexualize minor children in some of Wisconsin's public schools, you might want to scroll through the items posted below such as:

1)  WEAC's $325,000 donation to Defeat the One Man-One Woman Traditional Marriage Amendment in 2006
2)  WEAC's support for Planned Parenthood's Sex Ed Mandate last Session
3)  WEAC's opposition to the Pro-Family/Parents' Rights bill this Session to repeal Planned Parenthood's Mandate
4)  Internal memos sent through the Capitol about what is happening at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction which is headed by Tony Evers.
5)  An email that was forwarded to us from a member of the American Family Association about an incident that took place in the Shawano School District
Taxpaying parents, are these the values you want taught to underage children with your tax dollars?

KLEEFISCH Sends a Message to the Nation "Live Within Your Means"

Great article from Politico today on Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch who is facing a recall election alongside Governor Scott Walker.

Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, who faces a recall in June along with Gov. Scott Walker, said Wednesday that the election’s outcome will send a message to the country, noting, “What happens in Wisconsin has potential to affect every state in this nation.”
“We’re a harbinger. We’re a canary in a coal mine,” Kleefisch said on Fox News. “Because what happens in Wisconsin has potential to affect every state in this nation whether Wisconsin voters choose to go forward or backward, back to the failed policies of the past that got us in the budget crunch that we fixed in the first place.”

Read more: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0412/74828.html#ixzz1r7pDJVWO

I really liked Kleefisch's reference to the "canary in a coal mine."  This statements describes the "allusion to caged canaries mining workers would carry down into the tunnels with them.  If dangerous gases such as methane or carbon monoxide, leaked into the mine-shaft, the gases would kill the canary before killing the miners." (Wiktionary)

Walker and Kleefisch are heralding good news throughout Wisconsin, and to the nation.  The precedent has been set, and Wisconsinites will soon have the privilege of voting for them a second time.

The Lost Art

I learned how to make bread at an early age.  My mother made it faithfully and her mother's recipe is now carried on through generations.  My daughters are both adept at the art of breadmaking, and we are blessed with delicious products from our kitchen.  Made these homemade yeast rolls tonight in honor of my Mom. Not too many families practice yeast bakery in their homes in this day and age.  Be inspired!

West Bend School District - Defying Walker? Shenanigans? You decide.

As you may recall, there was quite an uproar over the alleged "broken grommet" of the flag at Badger Middle School in mid February.  (This is the newest flag and flagpole in the District; the one that was paid for out of the referendum cash.)  You can refresh your memory HERE

Since that time, numerous inquiries were sent to Supt. Ted Neitzke via Eagle Forum of Wisconsin-Washington County (EFWC).  Here is what was learned:

1.  Neitzke initially told talk radio show host, Mark Belling, that he knew nothing of the incident, but backpeddled and responded that the people had witnessed the problem as early as Sunday from neighboring churches, and the school secretary had received numerous complaints.
2.  The broken flag in question is pictured below (WBSD photo).  As you can see, the grommet, itself is not broken.:

4.  In an email to EFWC, Neitzke stated:
"The flag will be visually inspected at the start of each day. The flags will be lowered and not flown on weekends or during holidays when there is no staff to attend to them."

Oh, really?

Here is a picture of the West Bend Police Department flag flying at half staff per Governor Walker's orders last Friday, 03/08/2012.  This is what half staff looks like.

This is a photo of the Badger Middle School flag on the same day at approximately 2:15 p.m.  So this was visually inspected that day; the day it was supposed to be at half staff.  This is NOT what half staff looks like.  Why wasn't Governor Walker's order obeyed on Friday?  Just wondering...

This is a picture of the flag on Saturday, 3/10/2012.  As Neitzke stated above, the flag would not fly on weekends....  Huh?

Continuing right along...
5.  Within 24 hours the entire school district was sent a CYA email from Neitzke that states the flag was not tampered with by anyone, and that it was simply broken, and now repaired.  No shenanigans.
6.  Video surveillance was requested from Neitzke who stated "There is no video."  In the email to EFWC, Neitzke states, "As a result of the complaint I have investigated the situation. I interviewed Principal Kurt Becker, the Badger Facility Maintenance person, the Administrative Assistant to the Principal, I reviewed the video tape and I have discussed the situation with several community members who observed the downed flag over the weekend."

So there you have it.  Lefty shenanigans?  You decide.......

Verify the Recall Searchable Database to go *LIVE* Wednesday

From Verify the Recall:

Verify The Recall (VTR) has successfully tested a program that will become a publicly accessible, online, searchable database. VTR expects to publicly launch the program during the evening of Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Recall signature data from Wisconsin's gubernatorial and state senator recalls will be made available for public scrutiny. Data from the Lieutenant Governor recall will not be included in the initial launch. VTR's program will make public information (recall signature data) acquired from the GAB available to the public in a meaningful way.

Searches may be conducted using a first name, last name, street address, city, zip code, municipality, signature date, or any combination thereof. Copies of original recall petitions can also be viewed.

VTR will launch this program to help ensure the transparency and integrity of the recall process. Any individual who discovers the fraudulent use of their name, address, an underage child's name, or a deceased relative's name will be empowered to complete an affidavit contesting the fraudulent signature. All affidavits will accompany the gubernatorial and state senator recall signature eligibility reports submitted to the GAB by VTR.

VTR has taken the initiative to open lines of communication with organizations like the Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Abuse to discuss privacy concerns for protected individuals. VTR continues to accept address redaction requests from individuals with "confidential voting status" as defined under Wisconsin Statute Section 6.47. Such requests must be received by VTR by March 7, 2012. Details of how address redaction requests can be made can be found atwww.VerifyTheRecall.com. VTR will not accept redaction requests from individuals without confidential voting status.

While VTR applauds any efforts taken to make the recall process as transparent as possible, it is important to clarify that VTR is not associated or in communication with any other organizations that may choose to launch their own publicly accessible, online, searchable databases. The official VTR program will be linked to VTR's website when it is launched.

VTR issues a special "thank you" to its thousands of data entry volunteers. It is due to the incredible efforts of VTR Volunteers in recent weeks that an online, searchable database is now possible.

NO CALL SIGN-UP DEADLINE - FEBRUARY 29

TAKE ACTION TODAY.

From DATCP:

"The quarterly deadline is fast approaching for Wisconsin residents to sign up for the state’s No Call List. Numbers added on or before February 29 will be active on the list beginning April 1. This free no call service, offered through the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), covers both land and cell phone lines.

“The No Call List limits and reduces the number of intrusive telemarketing phone calls that Wisconsin consumers receive,” said Sandy Chalmers, Division Administrator of Trade and Consumer Protection. “Wisconsin residents have registered more than two million phone numbers to the list, and more than half of the most recent entries are cell phone numbers.”

Signing up for the No Call List may also help you spot potential scams.

“If you receive a telemarketing sales call while you are active on the list, that should alert you that the call is not legitimate,” added Chalmers. “If the telemarketer is willing to ignore the ‘no call’ law, what other laws would they be willing to break to get to your money?”

The list is updated four times per calendar year (January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1). The registration process is continuous, but those who sign up after the upcoming February 29 deadline will not be added to the list until July 1. Consumers must register every two years to stay active.

To add your residential landline, cell phone or VoIP number(s), visit NoCall.Wisconsin.gov or dial 1-866-966-2255. The website and toll-free number are available all day, every day.

If you receive a call in violation of the Wisconsin No Call law, file a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection by emailing datcphotline@wisconsin.gov or calling 1-800-422-7128.

An updated No Call List is sent to telemarketers quarterly. Violations of the state law carry a $100 penalty per call. Telemarketers are prohibited from making sales calls to numbers on the list, with the following exceptions:

Calls made to an existing customer - for example, calls from the bank you have a checking account with, your phone company or your credit card company.
Calls made in response to your written or verbal request or permission.
Calls encouraging you to make a donation of property, goods or services to a "nonprofit organization."
Calls encouraging you to purchase property, goods or services from a "nonprofit organization" unless sale proceeds are subject to Wisconsin sales tax or federal income tax.
Calls made for noncommercial purposes such as polls, surveys and political purposes.
Calls made to a business telephone number.
A call made by an individual acting on his or her own behalf, and not as an employee or agent of any other person."

BECKER takes VICTORY in Wash. Cty Supervisor Primary

Dave Krochalk - 59 - 12.74%
Jim Becker - 203 - 43.84%
Herbert J. Tennies - 199 - 42.98%

Looks like District #2 is ready to move on.

Congrats to Becker!

VOTE IN THE PRIMARY TODAY - BREAK UP WASHINGTON COUNTY CLUB

If you have a race in your area, GET OUT AND VOTE.

WASHINGTON COUNTY is looking to overturn 46 YEARS of Herb Tennies from District #2.  If you live in that District, get out and vote for JIM BECKER.

BREAK UP THE GOOD OLE BOYS' CLUB.

More info from Owen, PLUS a map if you aren't sure what District you reside in.

Vote JIM BECKER for Wsh. Cty Spvsr Dist. #2, oust 46 years of TENNIES

Owen has the full scoop on the District #2 Washington County Supervisor primary this coming Tuesday.  If you are in DISTRICT #2 (Owen has the map provided for you), get out the vote ON TUESDAY.

VOTE JIM BECKER.  Remove the good ole leftie boys' club by taking out Herb Tennies.

Time for a change.  A BIG change.

Curtsy, Boots and Sabers:

Yes, this is a tiny race, but it has huge impliactions for Washington County.
Current County Board Chairman Herb Tennies is trying to extend his current 46-year career as a county supervisor against a pair of challengers, David Krochalk, a former city alderman, and James (Jim) Becker Jr., a contract account manager with American TV & Appliance, Milwaukee, who is in his first run for elected office.
The primary will eliminate one candidate, while the two with the highest vote totals advance to the April 3 election.
Here’s the deal… Herb Tennies has been in office since before I was born and has come to treat the county board as his own personal feifdom. He’s the primary roadblock against reducing the size of the board (a 30-person board is nuts), killing the “temporary” sales tax, reducing spending, considering an elected county executive, and many other county reforms that will never see the light of day as long as Tennies sits in the big chair. His recent actions on the board in crushing opposition has led to his two challengers and has forced an extremely rare primary election for a county board seat.

Even Anti-Choicers Should Be Disgusted with Komen Backlash....

Well written.  My thoughts exactly.

From Daniel Forster, The Corner:
It’s official. The Komen Foundation has “apologized” for its Planned Parenthood decision and appears set to reinstate the funding*, thus making our editorial this morning both premature and, in a more profound sense, too late. So, you’re on notice: If you currently donate to PP, you may never stop doing so
.......
Will Wilkinson, who is pro legal abortion and probably the libertarian with whom I agree least often, gets it exactly right on this score, observing that there is more than a little gangsterism in the response from the PP set:
You know, I’m not a big fan of Komen’s brandification of breast cancer, I dislike seeing pink ribbons plastered over everything, and I think Planned Parenthood is real swell, abortions and all. So I’m not especially inclined to come to Komen’s aid. But I’ll be damned if this doesn’t look a bit like PP throwing it’s weight around, knocking a few pieces of china off the shelves, sending a message to its other donors: “Nice foundation you got there. Wouldn’t want anything to, you know, happen to it.”
.....
Imagine I volunteered to run a cub scout troop, and for years, when the annual soapbox derby came near, I knew I could count on Joe’s Deli as good for a hundred dollar donation. If one year Old Man Joe decided he didn’t want to donate any more — because he didn’t like the design of our racer, or because he thought his hundred bucks was better spent on a little league team, or because he disapproved of the scouts’ stance on gays — what on earth would justify me going on public access TV to grillOld Man Joe on why he hates kids? What would justify me hacking the Joe’s Deli web site or maliciously editing Old Man Joe’s Wikipedia page? What would justify me goading a handful of my city councilman into standing up at the next town meeting and publicly calling on Old Man Joe to reinstate his donation?

GRAZIE MEDIA GETS "THUMBS DOWN" AWARD for lending FREE AIR TIME to GLSEN

According to GLSEN:

NEW YORK - February 1, 2012 - The Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) and The Ad Council today announced the award-winning "Think Before You Speak" public service announcements (PSA) will appear at Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, Feb. 5. GLSEN will become the first LGBT organization in the country to share its PSA campaign targeting anti-lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) language among teens with Super Bowl attendees at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN.

From MISSION AMERICA:

"Jumbotron message will plug homosexuality as "bullying prevention"
As Super Bowl fans approach the stadium on Sunday, they may encounter a Jumbotron public service message about bullying from GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network.

"ThinkB4YouSpeak" is a campaign that seeks to instill the false idea that only by enthusiastically approving of homosexuality and gender confusion can we prevent bullying.

It's impossible otherwise, we are all supposed to believe.

This manipulative, immoral public relations effort is getting a boost by Grazie Media, a Toronto-based event firm, which donated the medium to GLSEN for this shameful message.

Our kids are also supposed to believe people are born this way, so that insulting a "gay" identity-- as in "That's so gay"--is just like insulting a boy or girl by name. Grant Hill and Wanda Sykes deliver this slick propaganda via short PSA's.

The truth is, people are not born this way. It's immoral and unnecessary behavior. It's not identity. We need to say this over and over to our kids so they can un-learn the lies of GLSEN and jaded celebrities.

Remember,no one needs to endorse homosexuality or gender-swtiching in order to stop bullying. This issue is being used by the anti-Christian, aggressive "gay" lobby for its XXX-rated, anti-child goals.

CALL Grazie Media to politely tell them you are disappointed they have now endorsed homosexuality for kids, and you truly hope they will get a heart and retract their support for this devious, anti-family campaign.

Watch the controversial GLSEN spots.

Yes, insults are bad. But "respect" for homosexuality and believing people are born this way is a big mistake and will do much more harm than good to our kids.

The entire point of this campaign is to build up the reputation of homosexuality as a valid and respectable identity, NOT to actually prevent bullying. The bullying concerns of parents and students are, sadly, just convenient tools for the pro-homosexual goals of GLSEN. "

Washington County Supervisor Meyers Goes Live

Washington County Supervisor, Bill Meyers, has created a new website that lends transparency to County Board meetings, County Budget, Salaries, and more. Meyers has been a hard-working, people-oriented, conservative worker for the county. This is just one more way for him to help people become connected with the government in their community.

From Bill:
Four years ago, when I first ran for the County Board, transparency in government was one of my key issues. I have worked very hard to force county government to share information and started a website several years ago just for that purpose.

I just launched a new website, http://www.CountySupervisorBill.com to focus more on current issues and respond better to constituents’ questions.

I think government should be by, of, and for the people and I am proud to be working for folks to make it that way.
