KLEEFISCH Sends a Message to the Nation "Live Within Your Means"

Great article from Politico today on Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch who is facing a recall election alongside Governor Scott Walker.

Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, who faces a recall in June along with Gov. Scott Walker, said Wednesday that the election’s outcome will send a message to the country, noting, “What happens in Wisconsin has potential to affect every state in this nation.”
“We’re a harbinger. We’re a canary in a coal mine,” Kleefisch said on Fox News. “Because what happens in Wisconsin has potential to affect every state in this nation whether Wisconsin voters choose to go forward or backward, back to the failed policies of the past that got us in the budget crunch that we fixed in the first place.”

I really liked Kleefisch's reference to the "canary in a coal mine."  This statements describes the "allusion to caged canaries mining workers would carry down into the tunnels with them.  If dangerous gases such as methane or carbon monoxide, leaked into the mine-shaft, the gases would kill the canary before killing the miners." (Wiktionary)

Walker and Kleefisch are heralding good news throughout Wisconsin, and to the nation.  The precedent has been set, and Wisconsinites will soon have the privilege of voting for them a second time.

Conservatives Response to the RECALL Drive

Cursty: Boots and Sabers

Words worth heeding. Conservatives, do your part.

As I’m sure you are aware, the attempt by liberals to recall Governor Walker begins tomorrow. It is an utterly misguided effort. Read my column tomorrow for some more thoughts on that. But as a conservative guy in Wisconsin who supports Scott Walker and the direction he is leading this state, here’s what I plan to do and suggest y’all might consider doing it too.

1) Record and report.

A recall drive is a public activity and participants are generally working in a public setting. I will take pictures, record conversations, take videos, and publicize it all. I hope that the folks are on their best behavior, because a lot of us will be watching. In fact, the Republican Party has set up a website to collect all of these reports. You can find it at Recall Integrity Center.

2) Power of the purse.

Just like the recall employees/volunteers, everyone who signs a recall petition is signing a public document. I’ll be looking at those names and making them public - especially for people in my neck of the woods. If you sign the petition and happen to own or run a local business, you can expect me to publicize that fact and decline to spend any more of my hard earned dollars with your establishment. After all, if you get your way I will need those dollars to pay my taxes.

3) Explain yourself.

As a close follower of the issues, I am well-equipped to debate the recall effort, the motivations, and the consequences. If you come to my door or approach me in public, you can expect a lengthy debate. I don’t really care if I convince you the error of your ways, but the longer you are talking to me, the less time you are spending collecting signatures. If you get frustrated and storm off in a huff, I’ll enjoy posting the video/audio. Heck, even if you don’t, it will be fun to highlight your lame arguments.

4) Show ID.

Every recall petition must be signed by the person circulating it. As such, anyone signing it has a responsibility to verify the identity of the circulator to make sure it’s on the up and up. If you ask me to sign it, I will ask for ID, record your information, and use that information as I see fit. If you are from out of state, you can expect to see your name in lights. If you refuse to show me an ID, I’ll be forced to take a picture and ask my readers if they know who you are. I will also ask if you are being compensated and, if so, by whom.

5) Send the cash.

During this period, there are no campaign finance limits on donating to Governor Walker. If you support Scott Walker. If you oppose returning to the days of Doyle and Democrat rule. If you support representative government where politicians serve the terms for which they were elected. Send a check. Do it now. Before you forget. If you have a lot of money, send a big check. If you don’t, then send a little one. It all adds up and there’s no better way to show that you support Scott Walker’s Wisconsin than by sending a check and casting your vote.

——-

I will not physically threaten or curse anyone collecting signatures. Nor will I do so to anyone who signs the petitions. I will be polite, friendly, and engaged. But I will make every personal effort to ensure that the entire process is legal, lengthy, and unpleasant for all concerned.

Just one man’s response…

ABC Calls Walker Winner

As I already predicted....

Scott Walker will be the next Governor of Wisconsin.

Rebecca Kleefisch will take over as Lt. Governor.

Well done!

Looks like Ron Johnson will be giving Russ Feingold the boot, as well.
10 p.m.:  54%/45%

ABC just called it as I wrote that.  Ron Johnson has ousted Russ Feingold!

This is, indeed, a very good day for Republicans/Conservatives.

Robinson backs Kleefisch for Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin

And so do I.

Excellent column today.  Read it in it's entirety HERE.  Curtsy to Boots and Sabers.

.....

On the Republican side of the ticket there are three viable candidates; State Rep. Brett Davis, Superior Mayor Dave Ross and Rebecca Kleefisch.

Davis is the perceived front-runner being backed by most Republican insiders. That should be the first red flag. He’s been in the Assembly for years and has a mixed record. He voted for several of Gov. Doyle’s bloated budgets, including voting to raise taxes, increase spending, raid the Patients Compensation Fund (which was ruled unconstitutional), etc. He also has a record of several good votes, but when push came to shove, Davis has a poor record of standing by conservative values.

Ross has a good fiscal record as mayor of Superior. By all accounts he is an affable person with some common sense. There are two things that make me extremely wary of Ross. First, although he has now renounced it, he was one of a few Wisconsin mayors, including West Bend’s Kristine Deiss, who was a member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns. Don’t be fooled by the name. This is a rabid anti-gun group headed by the likes of New York Mayor Bloomberg and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley. Ross’ membership in such a group doesn’t indicate a strong support of gun rights.

....

Finally, we get to Rebecca Kleefisch. She is a former television news anchor in the Milwaukee area and wife to a current Assemblyman who has a very strong conservative record. Kleefisch is known as a staunch conservative, but doesn’t have any elected record to back it up. She pitches her marketing background as an asset to advocate for Wisconsin business, but her ability to do so will be completely determined by the willingness of the governor to have her do that job instead of keeping it with existing state agencies.
