Free Candy isn't Free....

Again, like any bad conservative video, it makes really bad assumptions about "human nature" and the economy.

1. There is no unalienable right to do business in this country. If you want to do business, you need a license which means its a privilege and not something one can demand for "free" from society.

2. If conservatives want to maintain the notion that people in the workplace are paid based on "how much they are worth" then they have no business whining like little bitches when they are TAXED on how much they are worth.

3. How the tax money gets spent depends on how active you are in government and whether your ideas of how the money should be spent are good ones. Your ideas LOST in the last election - just as you reminded people that the unconstitutional ban on gay marriage passed.

So is there any real reason to placate to your nonsense? I don't think so.

This is a very confusing video. It seems to set up to imply that giving things away for free sets up a precedent that will inevitably be taken advantage of: giving away free candy/programs for the underprivileged leads people to expect that this candy/these programs will continue to be free through no contribution of their own. This metaphor suggests that there is nothing inherently wrong with the programs it is alluding to, rather we should be cautious in allowing people to take advantage of them.

But then it switches to abortion at the end. That seems to suggest that there's nothing wrong with abortion as long as it's not government funded; that is to say, as long as it doesn't allow itself to be taken advantage of by people that aren't contributing to the funding.

Is that really what it's trying to say?

This clip is straightforward..

OBAMACARE = even MORE dead babies at taxpayer's expense

But aren't taxpayers already paying for the welfare, food stamps, WIC, BadgerCare, etc. that is required to raise children from unprepared parents? Why not support things like Planned Parenthood instead (which, by the way, supports monogamy, not promiscuity or abortion)? More condom use=less dead babies.

A full-term, normal childbirth these days costs about 30 times as much as an abortion. In fact, worries about medical costs are a major reason women seek abortion. I HAVE insurance, but both of my daughters' births cost me about $4000 in deductibles and copays (I work for a small business, so my insurance is crappy).

This is especially true in the case of special needs children. It is difficult for a family to have a special needs child and ever have financial security again, since conditions such as Downs Syndrome are 'uninsurable' conditions.

So this analogy kind of breaks down.

Here's a more apt one. Say you have a dessert place in a highly trafficked area. You seel hard candy for 5 cents, and cheesecake for ten dollars. One day, you decide to give away the desserts for free.

Do you think the consumption of hard candy will go up? Or will the consumption of cheesecake?

Fact is, making it easier for women to pay for HAVING CHILDREN will lessen the number of abortions.

I don't care what the programs fund, abortion, religious re-education so that bigots get the right message from the Bible, or what have you.

I just wish people like Stewart would shut their trap.

1. There is also "no right" to health care in this country so if you want free health care you can move to Canada.

2. If we work, pay taxes and vote we have every right to "bitch".

3. True, we did loose, but we did vote so we can complain. Just because Barry was elected does not mean he knows what he is doing. It just means that a majority fell for his line of "hope and change" and not to forget voter fraud. Can you say ACORN?

"There is no unalienable right to do business in this country. If you want to do business, you need a license which means its a privilege..." That is why businesses are moving OUT of the United States because of over regulations and excess tax.

Marj- Housing murders in jail costs more than if we execute them. Looks like your analogy breaks down.
