This is kind of like asking for it. I can see if people were directly sharing their open opinions. When you set up a booth like that with life-sized cutouts, well....
Opinion, West Bend News, 07/30/09:
"My husband and I are Democrats. We manned the Democratic booth at the County Fair on Friday afternoon, and I was absolutely appalled at the behavior of some of the fairgoers. I was surprised to note faces filled with animosity and unveiled dislike after recognizing the life-size cutouts of President and Mrs. Obama.
...
There will always be differences in ideology between Democrats and Republicans. I can only guess at what causes this vitriolic physical and verbal reaction to the name or picture of President Obama."
I don't think you have to guess, lady. People were trying to tell you. Just listen. What we've been saying all along. Washington County is a conservative community. 'nuff said.

Her ignorance is astounding. Not only did she not realize that Washington County is strongly Republican she is blaming today's economy on Bush.
Obama inacted the "stimulus" bill. Which by the way is NOT working and cost Americans trillions for years and years and years to come. Obama increased our deficit to the heights its never been before. Obama is the one pushing Obamacare on us when we don't want it. Obama claimed he was going to pull out the troops, but hasn't (thank goodness). Obama is the one who hired law-breakers for his administration. Obama doesn't even know what is in his own Obamacare bill. Obama is the one who jumped all over a cop doing his job before he knew all the facts. Obama is the one while as Senator complained that Republicans were ramming through a bill with out anyone reading, yet he is doing the exact same thing. Obama is the one who is raising our taxes to new heights. Obama is the one who is weak on foreign policy. Obama is the one who is getting cozy with dictators like Chavez. Obama is the one pushing the unproven global-warming on us. Obama is the one who took over banks. Obama is the one who took over car manufacturers. Obama is the one who push through Cap and Tax.
Sorry, but blaming it on Bush no longer works. It's old, it's worn out and more importantly...it's false.
Hey, Obama and supporters. Starting taking some
r e s p o n s i b i l i t y.
Except that the economy was ruined before Obama got into power.
So keep lying to yourself about responsibility.
That and by all means, keep allowing your fellow conservatives keep going on about how Obama never produced his birth certificate. Its that kind of thing that's going to allow us to win the next election too.

Excuse me...as a small business owner we employed 30 employees under Bush. Under Obama we have 18. According to my books our business was booming under Bush. Under Obama we have let people go, restructed sick pay, tightened up vacations and days off, at times not everyone is working a full week. We are also looking at canceling our 401K for our employees.
Under Clinton people who could not afford loans were now able to purchase homes. That chicken has come home to roost.
Keep playing the Bush card...it matters not. What does matter is that Barry has NOT done ONE thing to help Americans to date. For crying out loud he can't even give a speech without a telepromter. What a joke.
Born in the US or not...he is still a incompentant socialist. He is proving that all by himself.
"Excuse me...as a small business owner we employed 30 employees under Bush. Under Obama we have 18."
what a ludicrous metric on which to base a thesis
Downtrend seems to have started about 2 years ago - hmm? That correlates to Pelosi & Reid gaining influence. Can't blame Bush for them, and they are certainly proving to be a disaster for Obama too. But carry on with the Daily KOS talking points.
Obviously you are not a business owner. Talk to any number of small businesses owner and you will know that business is down and unemployment is up. Or perhaps you haven't been watching the news. It's just a fact, one of which I am living.
Liberals always resort to name calling. Typical and expected.
BTW, since you brought it up. I believe there are errors in your written comment..and I quote:
"and you are an incompetent speller, proving that all by yourself "
Those who live in glass houses....
""Born in the US or not...he is still a incompentant socialist. He is proving that all by himself."
and you are an incompetent speller, proving that all by yourself "
Oh, yes there is. Interesting you can't see them, but I digress.
please take this mindless political discussion to Boots & Sabers, where mindless political discussions belong.
thanks
Well, you don't have to be rude.
(me thinks we have a liberal in out midst)
That was very Kindgergarten.
Bob
I think this topic has been exhausted.
I do think its funny that every single bill passed in Congress that helped destroy our economy during the Bush administration was voted for by Obama.
How can he say he inherrited the national debt when he was right next to Bush voted "yay" on the proccesses that he is blaming Bush for?
How can he condem Bush for forcing through a bill, then turn around and do the same thing? Hypocrisy.

Economy was in the tank before Obama was in charge. Do you really think it would be any better with the old guy (McCain), and that bimbo running the ship? NOT! until corporate America changes their greedy ways, we will be in this crap. I work for corporate America, it's all about getting bonuses. Our company did not get raises this year. The management still got their bonuses though... hmm. If corporations wouldn't send all their jobs overseas we could ALL afford $40,000 cars. The middle class built this country. Union jobs are middle class. Union jobs are going bye bye, and so is the middle class. More than a coincidence.
It was pretty obvious that neither candidate from the two major parties where strong economically.
I may not agree with a lot of the stuff the guy wanted, but at least Ron Paul was very correct economically.
"Kind of like asking for it"-- really, "kind of like"? If you want to make a point, make a point. Maybe if you read some of those controversial books you're so terrified of, you'd know about forceful and effective word choice.
Why do people think it's ok to be nasty to another person because they are sitting there next to a sign?
I would never, ever be nasty to someone sitting at a Republican booth. They are likely to be my neighbors (or potential clients one day). What exactly does anyone think they are achieving by giving people dirty looks? It's very juvenile.
In fact, am I the only one struck by Ginny's sarcastic, nasty tone? She seems to treat everyone with nastiness and derision. For someone who claims to be such good buddies with Jesus, she sure doesn't seem to have a loving bone in her body. She definitely doesn't seem to have learned any lessons about showing love to one's enemies or having humility.
And she also seems to have missed the lessons about the perils of public displays of righteousness.
All in all, I think Ginny should probably be spending a bit more time on the log in her own eye than worrying about public morality. Then again, I have my own planks to attend to...
Quote: "If corporations wouldn't send all their jobs overseas we could ALL afford $40,000 cars."
Why do you think compaines send jobs overseas? Too much tax, union pay is too high and they can not compeat globaly.
Everyone will buy the cheaper VCR made from elsewhere over the more expensive one made in the USA.
I am not a McCain fan, but frankly our business was doing much better under Bush than under Obama. That is just a fact.
If you want to keep high-paid union jobs and corporations here they please buy American products and spend more to get them.
Marjorie- Ginny to you, is like the sign for the deomcrat at the fair park.
I hear Obama may be raising the taxes on the middle class.
I apologize if I have been nasty. I have attempted to honestly engage people, not just spew out nastiness, sarcasm and barbs.
Majorie - Thank you for your apology. That is what happens when to talk about politics and religion. We all are passonate about our beliefs and sometimes we will never see eye to eye.
What we do have is the ablilty to curb our anger and our words. Like my mother taught me;
if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
Have a nice day :)
