Believe?...HELLO..the governments own system is telling us this. DUH!

Does it have to jump off the computer screen and bite you before you believe it?

Tell you what...if you think it's not true...go to the website and click "accept terms".

The Privacy Act of 1974, along with other federal rules, restricts the government from using web cookies or other means to track and collect information when you use their websites. It also prevents their ability to share that information with third parties.

For CARS to work, the government needs to collect and share the information you provide through the software. The only way to get around these rules is to consider your computer - WHILE USING THE CARS SYSTEM - merely an extension of the government's computer infrastructure. Otherwise, they simply couldn't make it all work.

So, please, don't use Glen Beck as your primary source for conspiracy theories.

Everyone calm the F down.

1) Beck doesn't show an actual system revealing this language, so it is unverifiable.

2) This is referring to the computer system that the auto dealers use to submit reimbursement claims, not individuals. So, unless you own a dealership, you have no threat of harm (if any really exists)

3) The language refers to the system, and its communications, being available for intercept, etc. This makes total sense, because it is government software. The government has a strong desire to monitor use of the CARS system to prevent fraud, etc. (This is no different than a bait shop using government software to issue a fishing license - that software is essentially an extension of the government).

Kids, there's nothing to see here, really.

Let's introduce some facts to the discussion:

1. If you are a consumer visiting cars.gov (the "cash for clunkers" website) the Federal government cannot take control over your computer, nor will it ask permission to do so.

2. The "Terms of Use" statement to which Beck refers in this clip is not from cars.gov. Rather it is a login page for dealer transactions located at esc.gov.

3. The only people who can get login credentials for the esc.gov site are dealers who have been screened and registered for the "cash for clunkers" program.

4. To summarize: the page in question isn't on cars.gov and can only be used by dealers who have already registered. Consumers won't be impacted by any of this.

The information that they gather will help prevent the terrorists from winning, so it's okay.

So long as there are cartoonish depictions of genitalia in the YA section, the terrorists have already won.

all the right wing conservatives need to get over their loss in the Presidential election. it seems they are lashing out in every which way possible because they are SORE losers. suck it up buttercup. i did for 8 years! Bush never won the first election! deal with it, and quit being a bunch of whiny babies. y'all sound like the southerners over the civil war! i took the loss in stride. i was giving Bush a chance until he went into iraq. that's when i turned on ole #43. don't think Palin is your savior either. she's dumber than W. I didn't think that was possible.

OH, that's right the liberals got over Bush after eight years.
Gee, my mistake..they are still bitter about Bush winning two terms that even after Obama was elected they continue to falsly blame Bush.

It's ok. When I go out to eat and order a nice cut of steak, and it gets to my table all nasty and burnt like. I like to blame the farmer that raised the cow that the steak came from.

I dont know how you guys do it...

Amazing what a simple Google search can discover and debunk:

Well, if Google says it, it has to be true. LOL

I checked truthorfiction.com and did not find it listed. Guess it is still being worked on.
