UNHealthy Youth Act gets the BOOT

This is a great day for schoolchildren throughout the state of Wisconsin.

The so-called UN"Healthy Youth Act" forced upon school districts/parents/minor children by the liberal Planned Parenthood fans is now receiving the well-deserved boot. View last sessions fiasco HERE. Control of local curriculum with regards to HEALTH education will now revert to local communities and school boards, where it belongs.

‎Today in Madison, the "Strong Communities...Healthy Kids Act" (SB 237) passed in the Senate Education Committee on a partisan 4-3 vote (with one amendment). This bill repeals & revises the so-called "Healthy Youth Act" that the liberals passed last session.

Good news, indeed.

AB458/SB324 Planned Parenthood "Un"Healthy Youth Act passes Senate and Assembly today

Sat in on the Senate yesterday.  Listened to Grothman and Olson put up the fight on this bill. Plenty of sound amendments were offered.  All reasonable.  All shot down.

Sen. Lena Taylor, the ungifted speaker that she is,  used ad hom attacks and nonsensical rhetoric to retort common sense.  Bottom line, this bill only passed because the Dems outnumber the Republicans.

Sen. Olson stated, "When a public entity takes on parental authority, parents should have a say."

Taylor responded by saying that this bill is a "road map to do it right" and that it is meant to "take away leadership."

Indeed, Ms. Taylor.  Indeed.

Of the six amendments offered by the GOP, the Senate rejected all but one, Sen. Glenn Grothman’s Senate Amendment 1 requiring that the legal ramifications of underage sex (i.e. sex offender registries, etc.) be taught along with the comprehensive sex ed required by this bill. It was a long, hard fight in the Senate, much like the Assembly, with the exception that the majority party actually voted on the GOP amendments instead of tabling them.

The bill flew to the Assembly who was in session yesterday afternoon.  The Assembly voted to pass the bill, and it's on its way to Doyle's desk for the rubber stamp.

Great thanks and appreciation to the Senators (particularly Grothman, Olsen, Leibham, Lazich and Hopper) who fought against this dangerous bill in the committee and/or on the floor.

The final vote on Passage of Assembly Bill 458 was 48 to 43 - straight party-line vote with the Democrats voting in lock step with Planned Parenthood's extreme agenda and the Republicans plus Pro-Life Democrat Bob Ziegelbauer voting in support of Wisconsin's teens, parents, school districts, and taxpayers.

Catholic Priest Fr. Nova testifies in favor of AB458/SB324; wants abstinence teaching BOOTED

In yesterday's Senate hearing on AB458/SB324, Fr. Alvaro Nova of Holy Angels Old Catholic Church in Milwaukee testified on behalf of this Planned Parenthood bill to oust abstinence from Human Growth and Development curriculum.  Father Nova is also well-known for his support of illegal immigrants in the United States.

This bill, AB458/SB324, takes local control of writing the curriculum out of the hands of communities and places it in the paws of Madison.  State government will not mandate any public school to actually teach HG&D, but will force those who do choose to include this in curriculum choices to do it Planned Parenthood's way.

As a side note, I did not witness any other PRO-LIFE OR PRO-FAMILY CLERGY at this hearing.  At the October 6th hearing before the Assembly, there was only one other clergy member present.  This, in and of itself, is deeply troubling.
