Moonbattery lends 2 cents

For an appalling example of how the degenerate moonbat establishment is shaping the next generation in its image, check out the YA Zone for young adults (grades 6-12) at Wisconsin's West Bend Community Memorial Library. It features a large section entitled "Out of the Closet: Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Fiction and Non-Fiction."

..................

The list goes on and on and on. The intent to encourage children to experiment with homosexual depravity is glaring.

If we don't take our culture back, it's going to continue to be transformed into something so unhealthy and unclean, we'll thank Muslims for wiping it away.

Now THAT is an anti-American statement.
if you trying to sound like Fred Phelps, you are coming close.

Seriously, you have a very real problem with your own sense of self-worth. The things that come out of your mouth are not Christian.

Encouraging children to experiment?? come on. get real. get educated. just get it.

You give Christians a bad name. You really do.

Do you really feel that you are representing Jesus well here, Ginny? The Bible says that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" - God made gay people and it's disgusting how you are trying to make them seem less sanctified than you.

"Be completely humble and gentle." - that's in there, too.

My goodness, your commenters are an interesting bunch. One tends to belive they would approve of your library having a childrens section that encourages experimentation with drug abuse too. In fact, statistically, that would be healthier than encouraging them to embrace a homosexual lifestyle.

Jesus didn't strike me as particularly humble or gentle when He was overturning the tables of the moneychangers in the temple or instructing His disciples to arm themselves.

'God's love cannot embrace what His holiness condemns. Men cannot pick the attributes of God they like and discard the rest.' ~Marv Rosenthal - Executive director of Zion's Hope

Homosexuality is clearly condemned in the Bible.

"26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;

27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

29They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips,

30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

32 Though they know God’s decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them."
Romans 1:26-32

I'm not saying straight people are perfect and never sin, but we are not arguing as a society, that murder theivery, lying or other Biblical sins. are perfectly okay. Homosexuality is Biblically condemned and it's just plain unhealthy. I wouldn't encourage anyone I loved to experiement with drug abuse and the risk of contracting horrible diseases and earlier death is much higher for those who choose to live as homosexuals.

I think those who encourage such behavior, even passively by tolerance cannot claim to be acting in love. To me, it looks far more like cowardice.

The Bible says it is OKAY to sell your daughter into sex slavery:

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

The bible says that a couple who have sex during the woman's period should be cut off from society:

"If a man lies with a woman during her sickness and uncovers her nakedness, he has discovered her flow, and she has uncovered the flow of her blood. Both of them shall be cut off from her people." (Leviticus 20:18)

The Bible says that shellfish is evil:

"But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you." (Leviticus 11:10)

"They (shellfish) shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination." (Leviticus 11:11)

OKAY, why don't fundamentalists pay attention to these parts of the Bible?

Why the focus on the HOMOSEXUAL parts ?

Call Me Mom, do you know what the greek words that were translated into "homosexuality" mean? "Male" and "Bed" - a place where men with VD went to recover from their disease.

Where did men in the NT times go to get VD? They had sex with temple prostitutes while worshipping idols. The word "homosexuality" didn't even exist when these scriptures were written. The behavior that was condemned was idol worship, not homogenital sex.

The Bible says (Eph. 4:2) "Be completely humble and gentle. Be patient, bearing with one another in love." and yet you make the argument that Jesus didn't practice what He preached when he went on his temple rampage... how fascinating.

Thank you for reminding us all how much the scriptures contradict themselves. Let it be a lesson to all of us to allow the Holy Spirit, not Ginny, to guide us.

New Testament (not Old Testament laws given to Israelites): "For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error."

And in case you missed it the first time, I'll repeat: "For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error."

Craic,
You are misquoting from the Old Testament.
" 7And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do."
(This is because men were regarded as being able to take care of themselves. They are stronger and not viewed as victims if they are walking down the street alone. There is an implied burden of care for a woman whom you have brought into your household. And please note-it says "maidservant", not slave. Slavery was known and I highly doubt that the word would not have been used if that was what was intended, since it is used properly in other places. This is simply recognizing that if a woman is in a household under a man's authority as a maid, a man or his sons might be tempted to have sex with her and these verses are saying they cannot just dishonor a woman in such a way and then throw her out. If they have sex with her, they must treat her as a wife.)

"8If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her." (He has dealt deceitfully with her here because he "betrothed himself to her" That means he treated her as a wife, because having sex with a woman was the equivalent of marrying her, and then decided not to keep her as his wife. So he has lied to her and dishonored her and should be given back to her family who will care for her.)
"9And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters." (Once again, having sex with her equaled marriage, she is to be treated as a daughter.)

"10If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish." (Self explanatory-she is to be treated as his wife because he has married her.)

"11And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money." (In this case she is able to make and honorable contract of marriage, not having been "married" to anyone else. Her family will probably take her back and arrange a marriage for her to the benefit of her family.)

Is that the way we do things today? No. Were all those forced marriages happy? Probably not. That's life. These were the guidelines the Israelites needed to set up their society when they came out of Egypt, because they didn't have any of their own.

Blood borne diseases are dangerous diseases.

The guidelines on food were good advice health-wise - do you know what shellfish eat?)and were repealed in the new testament for the purpose of witnessing to non-Jews.

Believers DO pay attention to all parts of the Bible-within context.

Sinnerviewer,
I do not see the word "homosexual" anywhere in the verses I quoted. The meaning of those verses is very plain, let me repeat them for you:

"26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;

27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error."

Here's the King James Version:

"26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; "

Still no use of the word "homosexual".

Nothing about temple prostitutes-simple statements that men had sex with men and women had sex with women. Clearly fitting today's definition of homosexual behavior and equally as clearly condemned.

Let's put that verse in Ephesians in context, shall we?

" 1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

2With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

3Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

5One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

7But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

8Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

19Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

20But ye have not so learned Christ;

21If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

22That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

25Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Clearly,Paul was speaking to believers and exhorting them to turn from the behaviors of their past sinful lives, their lives before they believed on Christ, in order to present a united witness that the rest of the community should be led to a saving knowledge of Christ as well. One of the main forms of the witness of the believers in Ephesus was, in large part, that they did turn from their past behaviors and no longer went to the temple of Artemis, nor engaged in other behaviors that were condemned by God.

To use Ephesians 4 as an exhortation to let people continue in their sinful behaviors because we should all be nice to each other is an egregious misrepresentation of the verse's meaning.

If you were standing in the road facing away from an oncoming truck(with your anti-communication device in your ears[headphones that is]), would you want me to gently and humbly request your attention so that I can, maybe, ask you to step out of the way of that truck, or would you want me to grab, shove, push, pull, hit you even, to make you move and show you the danger you were in later?

And Sinnerviewer, The scriptures, when read,in context (and in an accurate translation)do not contradict themselves.
