WISCONSIN Public Schools Can Interrogate Your Child - You don't GET to know....

It's true, and it's disturbing.

BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY.  SO GET ON IT.

According to WI state law, your local public school can yank your kid aside and interrogate them for something they "suspect" they were involved in, and they don't have to ask your permission to do so, thankyouverymuch.

Since when does sending our children to a public school mean we hand over our parental rights?  Last time I checked, it doesn't.

Read this story over at Irate, Tireless Majority, then urge...no....very strongly request that your Senator sign on as a co-sponsor to this bill that will protect your child, preserve your parental rights/authority, and stop the abuse of "in loco parentis" in a government institution.  And call Senator Joe Leibham's office while you're at it and THANK HIM for authoring this common-sense bill that defends both parents and children.  His number is (608)-266-2056; email is Sen.Leibham@legis.wisconsin.gov .

Transparency in Wisconsin's School Districts. What's YOUR District's Rating?

Our West Bend School District received a "D" for lack of transparency with information concerning:

• TAXES
• MEETINGS
• CONTRACT
• AUDITS
• PUBLIC RECORDS (ouch!)
• BACKGROUND CHECKS (double ouch!)

Unfortunately, this is the norm across the board. (Only four districts receiving anything higher than a D.) If our kid came home with a report card that had D's in every subject, justified it by saying it's what everyone else got, that wouldn't sit well, would it?  Same goes for this report card. We can do better.  We should do better.

WEAC and DPI = Sexualization of Wisconsin's Schoolchildren

Time for concern.

If you are not aware of the campaign to sexualize minor children in some of Wisconsin's public schools, you might want to scroll through the items posted below such as:

1)  WEAC's $325,000 donation to Defeat the One Man-One Woman Traditional Marriage Amendment in 2006

2)  WEAC's support for Planned Parenthood's Sex Ed Mandate last Session

3)  WEAC's opposition to the Pro-Family/Parents' Rights bill this Session to repeal Planned Parenthood's Mandate

4)  Internal memos sent through the Capitol about what is happening at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction which is headed by Tony Evers.

5)  An email that was forwarded to us from a member of the American Family Association about an incident that took place in the Shawano School District

Taxpaying parents, are these the values you want taught to underage children with your tax dollars?

Free High School Education - You get what you pay for?

Public education.  We should ALL want our money back.

Green Bay taking the hit with open enrollment - losing 600+ students; West Bend next?

GREEN BAY (AP) — Wisconsin’s school districts are competing for students and state aid with the beginning of the open enrollment period today.
From viral videos to newspaper ads and front page links on school district Web sites, recruiting efforts are under way.
The open enrollment period, from Feb. 1 to Feb. 19, allows parents to apply to send their children to any public school district of their choice. Last school year, more than 28,000 students participated.
WLUK-TV reports that school districts are faced with tight budgets and are competing to fill their buildings in order to avoid cuts. School districts receive nearly $6,500 in state aid for each student enrolled.

Libs try to put the kabosh on Indian mascot names

Attended a hearing in Madison yesterday concerning SB25.  This bill deceivingly tries to cry "discrimination" over the use of mascot names such as "warriors" and "arrowhead" and (gasp!), "Indians."


Senator Coggs likens the use of these mascot names to using the "n" word for African Americans.  See video of this session at Wisconsin Eye.  Coggs had the Wisconsin Indian Education Association show up and give a drippingly sad testimony of the terrible abuse these mascot names produce amongst the American Indian children in public school settings.  The WIEA packed the room with American Indian children who ranted the same rhetoric.  


Interestingly, Paul Sherman of the DPI was there to lend "information" regarding this issue.  Instead, he and another representative testified in favor of the bill.  When one Senator questioned Sherman about the DPI's stance in favor of the bill, noting that complainants could not expect a fair hearing from the DPI because of their obvious bias, Sherman had absolutely NOTHING to say in response.  This raised eyebrows around the room as the DPI had taken a neutral stance and was there to supposedly provide "information," as stated above.  Hmmmmmm.....  Good call on the Senator's part.

Bottom line of this bill:  Yet another governmental move to remove local control from the elected officials in local communities.
