See job description HERE.

"Clinical practice in family planning services including abortion provision and training. University (departmental, school, university-wide) and professional service appropriate to the UW faculty rank."

....

“Why is a public university, financed with taxpayer dollars, teaching future doctors how to kill innocent human beings?” asked Zignego. “UW-Madison is effectively encouraging students to participate in the abortion holocaust.”

This has got to be one of the most un-intelligent posts of your entire blog.

Just wondering CWBC...if you really do not care for my blog, and do not enjoy my posts, and are not receiving anything worth your while here, why exactly do you check in and read anyway? I would think you'd choose to spend your time where you could benefit most. Not that I am chasing you away...feel free to stay. I just don't understand why you would spend your time reading a blog you don't care for.

Why do I read your blog?

(a) You (falsely) claim to speak for the community, so someone needs to keep tabs on your rhetoric.

(b) Only through exposure to, and consideration of, a diversity of viewpoints does one gain knowledge.

It's a free country (at least for now) and if you don't like what is written may I suggest MSNBC...I hear they lean way to the left.

I'm here for the sheer entertainment factor of midwestern blog wars, myself.

At least the Midwest has some values left to stand up for.

CCWB,

I would like to politely ask you to refrain from posting your website link within your commentary, as you have done numerous times in the past. Thank you!

Anonymous said...

I assume you will ask Dan to refrain from posting his website link as well.

@Ginny: why do you desire to censor my comments and restrict your readers' ability to view additional viewpoints?

As noted in Blog Etiquette http://www.bloggingtips.com/2007/11/25/blog-etiquette-the-rules-are-quite-simple/:

"When you comment on someone else’s blog, there’s usually a line under the name and email for a link to your blog or website and that should suffice. There’s no reason to link your blog again in the comments. We know where to find you if we need you. If you have a link you feel is relevant to the topic, contact the blogger"

Not that I swear by anybody's rules, but this seems very reasonable; therefore, I choose to follow it. Dan has asked my permission; you have not.

That is not censorship. That is common courtesy.

You gave me a good chuckle, Ginny:

(1) Consider that the interface on your blog does not have "a line under the name and email for a link to your blog or website". We just login with our Google account, so there is no place to leave a link to my blog.

(2) Your comment interface plainly states "You can use some HTML tags, such as <b>, <i>, <a>", so my using the <a href> tag to embed links is within your policies.

(3) Your statement "Not that I swear by anybody's rules" is amusing since you've cut/pasted someone else's blog comment policy and stated it verbatim as your own (see http://sleeplessinwestbend.blogspot.com/2009/04/wissups-blog-comment-censorship-policy.html)

(4) Given this point, you should consider the first item of blog etiquette you point to, noting "it’s never OK to post someone else’s words on your own blog", since you do that with some frequency, and have stated you have no obligation to cite your sources.

kthxbye!

Concerned WB Citizen- Me thinks you protest too much. What's the big deal?

If you're in someone's house and they ask you to take off your shoes, you take off your shoes.

Chuckling right back at ya!

Listen, let me help. Click on your name. Yes, right there. The one in bold blue with the underline. There you go. Hey, what's that I see? Could it be your blog? Aha! I knew it!

All your other statements of harrassment (yes, indeedy, that is what they are) can be cleared up by reiterating my first comment - "Not that I swear by anybody's rules." And I don't.

Remember what I have said time and again, Sleepless? My blog. My rules. Don't like it? Play somewhere else.

Thanks a bunch! Now go outside and get some wonderful fresh air therapy! It will work wonders for an attitude!

WBCA,

I must say, I find it interesting that you have so much to say about nothing, generally pointing to personal attacks, and hide behind an alias. What are you afraid of?

Lighten up , both of ya. This is the blogosphere, not the senate floor.

If I may butt in, Anonymous, I can see this is not the Senate floor. On the Senate floor, you could not speak as Anonymous. Man, I hate that. Use your name, would ya? I use mine.
